Philosophy

I love my work! Making spaces beautiful can feel like a community act, as well as highly personal. My hope is that my efforts help people enjoy the view, as well as engage with the everyday, intimate nature right in front of them. I work to make the spaces between pavement and houses greener and friendlier for people — as well as for pollinators and other wildlife. I’m committed to providing true expertise and a thoughtful presence. I have utter respect for my clients’ space, aesthetic, pace, and budget.

Background & Training

I am a northern California native with a background in art as well as community planning. My gardening started as a hobby, then volunteering, then a part-time job, and then to a full-time job and intentional career choice. Along the way, I’ve taken classes at City College of San Francisco, Cabrillo, worked with several gardening companies, and apprenticed with gardeners in San Francisco, Marin, San Mateo, and Santa Cruz counties. I am always looking to learn, and to connect with other gardeners, including both “experts” and backyard gardeners. Let’s get outside!
